Senior UI/UX Designer (Contractor)

Our national fertility clinic client is looking for an experienced freelance UX/UI Designer to play a key role in the design and development of their digital products! This is a contract position for 10 - 15 hours per week that is expected to last through Q2 and potentially longer.

Working together with and coaching the Visual Designer on staff, you will be responsible for creating seamless and engaging user experiences by combining a deep understanding of user needs, business goals, and design trends.

  • User research: Conduct user research to understand user behaviors, needs, and preferences; translate findings into actionable insights that inform the design process
  • Wireframing and prototyping: Create wireframes, user flows, and interactive prototypes to visualize and communicate design concepts; iterate on designs based on stakeholder feedback and usability testing
  • UI design: Develop visually appealing and consistent user interfaces that align with brand guidelines and the client’s design system, and create detailed Figma prototypes and specs for developer handoff
  • Usability testing: Plan and conduct usability testing sessions to gather feedback and refine designs, then analyze the results to make data-driven design decisions
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including content writers, product managers, developers, and other stakeholders, to ensure a seamless and cohesive user experience throughout the product development lifecycle
  • Stay updated on industry trends: Keep abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and design best practices; share insights with the team and contribute to continuous improvement
  • Maintain a willingness and ability to design marketing assets (i.e. paid ads, emails) as needed


  • 5+ years of experience with using a web design software, including Adobe Creative Cloud or Figma, from ideation to final execution
  • 5+ years of experience with applying best practices for improving web accessibility, usability, and technical implementation with usability tools, including Figma, Sketch, InVision, Axure, Framer, or Adobe XD
  • Ability to design products for front-end development, including wireframes, low and high-fidelity mock-ups, or click through prototypes, that implement visual media design principles, theory, best practices, user-centered web design principles, and UX processes
  • Understanding of how the eCommerce experience affects customer's/client's entire journey and experience
  • Experience with highly considered product purchase cycles


  • Experience with implementing industry standards for user experience methodologies, design technical resources, and web best practices
  • Experience with business workflow and appropriate capabilities and tools, including JIRA
  • Experience with Agile Software Development methodologies
  • Experience with graphic design principles, including typographic and layout, and production methods

Rate: $55 - $63/HR
